Gm Gm folks!
Today we are going to discuss a lot of basics from the web3 glossary.
B: Blockchain, Block , Bridge, Burn, BUIDL
Not sure what the block in blockchain is? Ever wondered how cross chain transfers and interactions work? 🤔
Let’s BUIDL some understanding on this without burning time.🚀💁🏻♀️
Let’s understand what;s blockchain?
Blockchain is a system of recording info which makes it difficult or impossible to change, hack, or cheat the system. It’s the backbone of Web 3 that enables decentralisation! It’s essentially a linear chain of blocks, and each block is connected to the previous block.
But what is a block in the chain? 👇👇
A block is a place in a blockchain where information is stored and encrypted. They’re identified by long numbers and hold encrypted transaction information from previous blocks and new transaction information thus helping them chain together
Each block contains 4 key components
1️⃣Data - Any information that one wants to store securely in the blocks
2️⃣Hash - Unique identifier assigned of each block
3️⃣ Hash of the Previous Block - Includes the previous hash value of the blocks. 4️⃣Meta Data- Relevant data regarding the data inside the block; e.g. timestamp or block number.
Bridge 🌉
Each blockchain has its own rules, tokens, protocols. How would 2 blockchain ecosystems work together?🤔
Bridge facilitates interaction between 2 separate blockchains, enabling the transfer of data, tokens, and other information between systems. These protocols are similar to physical bridges linking one island to another, with the islands here being separate blockchain ecosystems. They also allow users to access new protocols on other chains and enable developers from different blockchain communities to collaborate.💁🏻♀️
Well whether you’re in web 2.0, web 2.5 or web 3.0 we all are building something. In web 3.0 we BUIDL!
Yes you heard that right 💯
BUIDL Simply means build, a common intentional misspelling used in crypto circles! The BUIDL movement believes that instead of just accumulating/trading cryptocurrencies, people should start contributing proactively in order to drive adoption and improve the ecosystem for people.
It could anything that could help the blockchain and cryptocurrency fields evolve and expand. Playing blockchain games, creating content, beta testing products etc.🚀
Trying to explain Web3 can be exasperating, since its definition can change depending on who is defining it.🤯 But that's the case with all new frontiers of technology.💁🏻♀️
Thats a wrap for today!
Stay tuned for more on the new vocabulary of the web for next 30 days.💯
